Be the first to know about new class dates
Would you love the time to be more creative and develop an artistic hobby?
If you’d like to learn more about drawing and painting materials but you’re not sure how to begin, this Colour Media for Beginners course provides an excellent starting point. The course is ideal for complete beginners with no prior experience of using colour media (such as paints & pastels); building your confidence and helping you to become more comfortable in making art.
Each week you’ll be introduced to a different art material and learn about its characteristics. After experimenting with techniques, you will put these into practice - creating a finished artwork.
There will be plenty of opportunities to experiment with different colour media - pencils, pastels, watercolour and acrylic paints. We’ll demystify the overwhelming shelves of the art shop and as you become familiar with the various art materials, you’ll begin to develop your own style.
This relaxed evening class is the perfect way to dedicate time each week to a creative activity, giving you time away from everyday stresses. The course is carefully structured with lots of demonstrations and guidance, so you’ll always feel supported. Over the weeks you will broaden your drawing and painting skills within a small encouraging group and find a sense of accomplishment as you create each piece of art.
This course could also be the ideal next step after completing the Drawing for Beginners Course.
All art materials and equipment are provided and classes include refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits.
Introductory Price: £120
Class numbers are small (usually a maximum of 5 people) so you will benefit from specific support from your teacher.
I am located within the Out of the Blue Drill Hall - an arts venue which accommodates a range of artists, designers and charities and hosts exhibitions, art fairs and other creative events.
