GENERAL
Ages 10+ from complete beginners to Advanced Higher/A Level students. Motivated younger students may be considered after a short trial.
In-person from my studio, located in Out of The Blue Drill Hall. The studio is a few minutes walk from bus and tram stops. Please note my studio is on the second floor with no lift access.
Most students do 60 minutes weekly. 90 minute sessions are possible if it better meets your child's needs.
I am experienced in teaching all aspects of art, from drawing fundamentals, painting, colour theory, composition, as well as 3D and textile work. I can support students with Expressive and Design Portfolios for SQA qualifications.
PRICES AND SCHEDULING
60 minutes: £32. 90 minutes: £45. Classes are arranged in termly blocks of around 6-9 classes and are booked and paid in advance. There is flexibility at the time of booking for weeks missed due to holidays or other activities.
All art materials are included. In the rare exception that a student wants to learn something more unusual, they may need to provide the materials.
There are class slots after school and Saturdays, and some daytime slots are also possible. Contact me to find out what slots are currently available for booking.
Classes are booked and paid for in advance, in termly blocks of around 6-9 classes. At the time of booking you can advise me of dates when your child cannot attend class due to holidays or other activities. You will then receive an invoice with a personal class schedule. Classes missed after that invoice has been paid for are not refundable. Full details are in the Terms and Conditions.
Payment is by bank transfer after you have received an invoice.
GETTING STARTED
Book a free 20‑minute intro call/meeting to discuss goals and check fit. This is a chance for your child to meet me, to see if we would like to proceed with classes. We can then book in a first trial class.

SAFETY AND SAFEGUARDING
Yes. I am a member of the PVG scheme and maintain regular safeguarding training.
Yes - Public Liability and Professional Indemnity cover.
EXAMS AND PORTFOLIO
I can support your child with work for their Art & Design qualifications such as SQA National 5, SQA Higher, Advanced Higher, GCSE and A-Level. I can provide guidance and support with portfolios and exam preparation. Your child must be registered for this qualification in school or other exam centre.
I can provide ongoing formative feedback to support with continuing improvement of skills, but I do not formally assess or grade work.
ACCESSIBILITY AND SUPPORT NEEDS
Yes. I have extensive experience of working with neurodivergent young people. I adapt pace, instructions, and environment. Let me know about preferences or strategies that work well.

Yes—materials, formats, and goals can be adjusted to suit the student. Let me know what works best for your child.
GENERAL
1:1 is my core offer. Small group workshops may run in school holiday. Join the mailing list for dates.
Parents may sit in for a first lesson if your child needs reassurance. More generally, parents can wait in the Drill Hall cafe or nearby the studio for the duration of each class.
I have lots of experience of building young people's confidence; I plan tasks to build their skills and we work at a pace that suits their abilities.
