Using premium vegetable tanned leather, you will learn traditional handmade methods including how to mark up and cut leather, the technique of saddle stitching and how to finish your leather by bevelling and burnishing. This is an excellent class for a complete beginner to leatherwork.
You can choose your colour from a range of carefully sourced, high quality Italian leathers. I only use vegetable tanned leather (rather than environmentally damaging, chemically coloured leathers). You will learn age old techniques to make a handcrafted accessory that can last a lifetime.
Introductory price £45 (normally £55)
All equipment is provided and at the end of the class you will take home your own handmade leather piece.
Class numbers are small (usually a maximum of 4 people) so you will benefit from specific support and guidance from your teacher.
I am located within the Out of the Blue Drill Hall - an arts venue which accommodates a range of artists, designers and charities and hosts exhibitions, art fairs and other creative events.
Please note - this class involves some hammering (this can be a great stress reliever!) If you are sensitive to loud noise this may not be the class for you.
If you can’t see a date you can attend, you can book a private leatherwork class for 2-4 people (£55 each).
Spend a couple of hours learning a new skill and getting creative with a friend or loved one. Just get in touch with your dates and I’ll arrange a class for you.
THE PERFECT GIFT
You can also book a Leatherwork Class for Two as a gift.
