Would you love more time to relax and develop an artistic hobby?
If you're fed up of scrolling through social media or watching hours of box sets and you'd like to find a creative pastime, this Art for Wellbeing course provides an excellent starting point. This course isn't for 'arty' people - anyone can take part.
These classes are all about enjoyment and relaxation- and through this you'll find your art skills improving and you'll become more confident in painting. We'll work through 3 projects over six weeks - you'll broaden your painting skills within a small encouraging group and find a sense of accomplishment as you create each piece of art. You'll also have an opportunity to work on your own idea for a piece and receive guidance on this.
This relaxed class is the perfect way to dedicate time to a creative activity, giving you time away from everyday stresses. The course is carefully structured with lots of demonstrations and guidance, so you’ll always feel supported.
All the art materials are included so all you need to do is turn up and relax; you'll be fully supported throughout the course. The course is ideal for complete beginners with no prior experience of using colour media (such as paints & pastels); building your confidence and helping you to become more comfortable in making art.
So take time out from the hurly burly of life, get those creative muscles working and join me for these relaxing classes.
All art materials and equipment are provided and classes include refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits. This course could also be the ideal next step after completing the Drawing for Beginners Course.
Class numbers are small (usually a maximum of 6 people) so you will benefit from specific support from your teacher. Extra measures are in place to meet the government's Covid-19 guidelines. Find out what we are doing to keep you safe here.
I am located within the Out of the Blue Drill Hall - an arts venue which accommodates a range of artists, designers and charities and hosts exhibitions, art fairs and other creative events.
PLEASE NOTE: The City Workshop studio is located on the second floor and unfortunately there is no lift access.

I loved the class and was really surprised at what, with Tamar’s guidance and encouragement, I was able to achieve. Ignore the voice that tells you that you can’t draw and do this class.
Tamar explains how to put marks down on paper in a way that’s easy for a complete beginner like myself to understand. Not only I have gained knowledge on how to draw, the different techniques & mediums to use but Tamar has given me confidence in my ability to draw.
Tamar is an excellent teacher who guides you in developing your drawing skills. It's a very supportive environment which allows you to relax, be creative and learn a range of drawing skills.
